Michael Carney
Piano
Michael Carney was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. He started taking classical piano lessons at the age of 4, playing in numerous recitals and competitions. In high school, Michael joined the jazz band and continued his music studies at the University of Oregon where he played in various jazz and Latin ensembles.
After graduating in 2021, Michael moved to Redmond, Oregon to pursue his other passion, green building construction. Here in central Oregon, he has enjoyed playing with the Community College Jazz Band and accompanying young vocalists and horn players. When not at the piano, Michael enjoys skiing, swimming, rafting, and exploring Central Oregon’s unique geology and hiking trails.
